Green light for Workplace Bullying laws

New Workplace Bullying Laws Update

The Fair Work Amendment Bill 2013, containing Australia’s first workplace bullying laws, passed through the Senate last evening and received Royal Assent today.

The commencement date of the new workplace bullying laws is 1 January 2014.

From that date the Fair Work Commission will be able to receive and determine complaints of workplace bullying brought by a “worker” of a constitutionally-covered business.

Now more than ever employers will need to know how to properly investigate reports of workplace bullying.  In-depth analysis about the new bullying laws can be found in our recent news article.
